With Early Voting Beginning Today, Latino Victory Project Reminds Texas Latinos to Make Their Voices Heard

Washington, D.C. — With early voting beginning today, October 20, 2014 in Texas, Latino Victory Project President Cristóbal Alex today urged Latinos across the state to make their voices heard on Election Day.

“The power of the Latino community in the Texas elections this year is unprecedented,” said Alex. “But in order to make a difference in the state, we must turn out, and we must take advantage of early voting. With so many critical issues on the line—immigration reform, securing a living wage and protecting our environment — we must rally together as a community and make sure the power of our collective voice is recognized on November 4th.”

A 2012 Pew report notes that there are 4.2 million Hispanic eligible voters in Texas, making it the second largest Hispanic eligible voter population nationally.

According to the Texas Secretary of State, early voting will last from Monday, October 20 to Friday, October 31. Registered voters may vote at any early voting location in their respective county of registration. For a list of county offices and locations, please click here.
